I am running Windows 2000 Server and whenever I access the Computer Management snapin the system locks.

I cannot add or delete windows internet services or any other Computer Management addons.

How can I restart the system. I already tried to reinstall Windows but I do not want to have to reload all my other software.

Thanks

..need more detailed info. What hardware in the serer? Is it a new machine, or an old machine trying to run Win2K?

..the more you can post, the more we can help.

I am running Win2K Server on a AMD 900mz w/ 256mb ram, 80gb hard drive, etc. The problem is that any attempted changes to the Computer Management Console or uninstall of any of the Internet Services freezes until you kill the task.

I have tried to reinstall Win2K, but I do not want to reformat and reinstall.

How can I force a complete reinstall of internet services without interferring with all my other programs?

Maybe I will have to do a clean reinstall???????

have you been exposed to the code red virus?

seems like it to me.
