I had all these compliants from friends of mine : they get a CD or DVD that cannot be read by there HiFi system but when they go to the computer, they read OK. The more expensive the HiFi are, the more 'selective'. Can anybody tell me what's up. Is it the mechanical parts that matter or is it the electronics? The HiFi is about 20 times more than the drive (of course a complete system vs a bare drive)
but cannot perform as good!!!

PC CD drives read just about anything.......but not Cd players.......You need to use CD-R's when burning, NOT CD-RW's..........probably the same with DVD's......I don't know as I only have DVD ROM......
