Does anyone have any advice on how to comile a form so when given to the users they do not have access to the tables and raw data? I would like for the form to open automatically when the user clicks on the file instead of the beginning screen of Access. Any help is grealy appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

You could hide the database objects. If you are good at security, youc an go in and set it up so everyone has to log in to your database and then based on their log on, the would only have access to certain objects as you set up.

You have to be careful though. Everyone starts out being in the Admin Group, which gives them access to everything you have. What I would do is create a new Admin, but give it a different name, like your name. Then i would delete the Admin group. Make sure you create your admin group first, otherwise you will not be able to access anything. Then you can go in and set up your groups as you want.

Also, you might want to check out Microsofts web site. They should have documentation on how to setup security.

In addition to the other suggestions, publish your database as a mde (or ade) by clicking Tools -> Database Utilities -> Make MDE File. This is a cut down version of the database that has all of the editing functions stripped out - your users cannot alter the design of forms, queries, tables, etc. Users will still be able to open the tables but not alter the structure.

Norris68,

Is there any certain way to do that?? My option is grayed out. Do I need to install anything extra to have this option available??

Thanks,

Chris
