Hello All,
Once again, I am back at the boards with a strange and perplexing issue.. =) Today's topic is compiled report print issues. Background: I have a shared network connection to a series of compiled reports. The reports have been compiled on the developer machine to be setup with default printer setup. Issue: user #1 runs the report, the report prints fine on the user's default printer, now.. user #2 goes to run the same report and wants to print out the report.. except when they elect to print the report, it goes to the default printer of user #1. A few more details, the report is printed to a window, then once the report has populated, the report is printed by pressing the print icon. I could understand the issue if the users were selecting the print to a printer option in the initial compiled report screen or if they had the printer setup box in which they selected their printer. This is not the case though. Any ideas why the compiled report retains the default printer of the first person that uses the report? Even more perplexing is that this does not always occur, it seems random. I know the method of converting the report back to default settings, but this doesn't prevent the sporadic cause of this issue. Any input (other than telling me to go web-based) would be be appreciated!

As you know Crystal Decisions dropped support for compiled reports two versions ago. It is just because of this type of problem. In all likilihood you have different versions of the various support *.dll files on the different computers.

Have you looked into the HammerLaunch program? It is a good alternative to compiled reports.
