Wonder if anyone can help. Running ME with Easy CD creator 4, as supplied with computer and have a combo DVD/CD RW/R unit. If I copy a whole CD there is no problem, the unit copies original CD then kicks it out and asks for a blank CDR and burns the whole album. However if I go to make up a compilation CD, I can copy some tracks from the 1st album and then burn onto CDR. Then I put in another album and copy a few more tracks, but when I reload the burnt CDR, c/w tracks from 1st album, I get a message saying " this is a closed CD and any tracks recorded further to what exists cannot be played on car or home stereo". When I press the onscreen help at this stage it seems to indicate that the software is reading my CDR as a CDRW. If I carry on copying on this CDR, the tracks do not play on my car stereo.
Is this because it is a Combo unit, or can I tweak the software to stop it recognising a partially complete CDR as a CDRW. I have viewed a few articles on the Internet which seem to indicate this can happen with this software package, but I am desperate to find a way around this ASAP

Can't you select the audio track you want to record in the right pane of the explorer section, and then click Add. Repeat until the Audio CD Layout contains all of the tracks and files you want to record. Then burn CDR. smitee

Let's start from square 1...

First of all, whenever you create/copy tracks to a CDR, Easy CD Creator should give you a window showing you some options. Before you hit OK to start the burning process, take a close look here. Make sure it is set to "leave the session open".

It sounds like you are closing the session each time. Car/Home stereos can only read what's in the first session. If you leave a session open, you can add tracks later. Just keep in mind that you must close a session before the cd can be read in your car stereo.

You can also try what smitee suggested which makes a lot of sense...

Firstly thanks for the help smitee and cdogg. To update, re smitee comment, I have tried exactly that, ie loading various tracks off different albums, via the add function.
After I have done this and go to put in a blank CDr to burn, it is rejected and the programme asks for the first album which I have taken tracks from to be inserted. This totally confused me, as the help file tells you to record a compilation CD exactly as smitte says.
I cannot help thinking it is something to do with the combo DVD/CDRom/CDRW/R drive.
In response to cdogg tip, there is a number of boxes come up, as well as OK, when the programme asks for a CDr with sufficient space to burn the first lot of tracks, so I will have a look tonight

maborouk,

OK, now I have a better idea of what's going on. You only have one CDROM drive (the combo you mentioned). Since this is the case, you need to copy each track to your hard drive first. That way, it can burn the tracks to the CDR without needing the CD's.

When you say you're "loading" different tracks, I take it that you are just making a list that you want. When it's time to burn, Easy CD is looking for those tracks from each CD.

As you put each CD in, right click the tracks that you want and choose "pre-record to WAV". You must have about 50MB of space for each 4min track. Then simply make the track list from the WAV files you copied to your hard drive. If you don't have a lot of disk space, then you may have to do a couple at a time leaving the session open in between.
