I've been searching around looking for documentation which provides a thorough comparison of IOS to other vendor OS' (Foundry's Ironware, Juniper's JunOS, Extreme's XOS, etc.) I can't find anything of substance. There are plenty of article's about modular vs. monolithic, but nothing specific to the OS architecture (memory management, scheduling, process/thread handling, interrupt handling, etc.). Does anyone know of any such documentation or suggest where I should look? Is there any chance any of you folks have access to this information that you could post here? When I'm finished with my analysis I'd be more than happy to post my findings back here.

Thanks!

I doubt you will find anything like that . You just have to go by what features each device supports . Each vendors OS system is different.

Post certain show commands, like sh mem, sh proc, sh proc mem, sh stack, etc...from each box. The examples I gave are from Cisco. Do these while doing extended pings to the router.
