As a user in WIndows 98 and Windows XP. I found that the performance in outlook express have a lot of differences.

Any Suggestion on maintenance Windows 98's outlook express so that the performance can become better? Any disscussion or any idea to boost up performance in Outlook Express using Windows 98.

Well I dont use outlook express much but depending on hardware specs you could probably add a few pieces to it. Like some more ram. This reply im making might be of little or no help for as I said I dont use outlook so I know very little about it. Going to see if I can help you though lol. Give these links a try.

(I know nothing of this program , looks interesting but be warned might contain spyware or other unwanted things)

I found that the performance in outlook express have a lot of differences

Like what? If the win98 installation is running ok (long odds there!) and the actual internet connection is ok too, OE should run fine in 98 (you are running ie6/oe6?). What particular performance aspect are you having problems with?

Performance issue when the size of the file become too big.
XP still can support. Not much different even the storage of the files become so big.

But for Windows 98, The more attachment files u keep, the more slower to read the files. Some times when mouse click faster than system can done, it will become not responding.

So, it is trouble some to keep big size of files during for the year. I was working in Logistics company which attachment files most from excel. So far When the Inbox overload, another new folder will be created as Inbox(1).
Then had to move files to new sub folder for house keeping. But this way doesn't solve problem very well.

SO, i m looking why XP can support Outlook Express so well but windows 98 not? Sure got some steps that can repair or increase the performance in Windows 98 since XP already done successfully.

Haven't seen those symptoms - but haven't used 98 in anger for years! But I have seen XP OE struggle when lots of stuff in folders too. Could it just be the actual machines (XP machine likely has more RAM, faster processor and hard drive)?

Without looking at the status of the machine's concerned.....

May be because of the reason Hardware and Memory issue..

If the PC can install Windows XP, It means it meets the minimum requirement so that outlook express can run properly and having good performance.

But let say when the same PC formatted and install only windows 98 and not XP. What do you think about the comparison on outlook express. (In Windows XP and Windows 98)

Is it Outlook Express in Windows 98 not good as Install in Windows XP?
Let say the performance not good, some times PC not responding.. What can do?
