People,
We are about to convert our Core system (Cobol applications, RS/6000) to a 'standard' system. Our core business is dealing with Debts. We receive debts, which we try to collect for our clients.
The system we bought is London Bridge's Debt Manager. The system is beautiful however lacks any way of reporting. As they indicate (and is more than logical), everything which is in the Database can be extracted by a reporting tool.
It is my job to convert, develop and build every report for the future system. I need a reporting tool for this. One of the questions I got is to find out what reporting tool to buy.
Can someone help me with my choise? There are more than one available. Some examples: Crystal Reports, Business Objects or Oracle Reports (part of developer/designer)
Some information which might be useful:
Manufactorer New System: London Bridge
System Name: Debt Manager
Database: Oracle 8i
Hardware: Debt Manager runs on an RS/6000, the client will be on a Cytrex Server. The rest of the clients are on Windows NT 4.0
Core business description: Collection of Debts etc.
Extra: many reports need to be run at night. Which means I must be able to schedule the reports.
I hope someone can help me, because I am kinda desperate.
BTW: money is not an issue; however time is.
Regards,
XIII
