I have purchased a new Compaq Evo N1020v laptop with XP Pro pre-installed and require to set this up for access to my companies Token Ring Network.
To do this I use IBM Token Ring PC Cards, but for some reason I cannot get the Card to work under the above combination. The cards work fine in IBM/Toshiba laptops with XP Pro or 2000 installed, but this is the 1st Compaq I have bought.
I have tried installing the laptop with 2000 and the same issue arises. I have tried all the latest drivers for both OS's for all the hardware, including bios and SP's for the OS's. Also tried Compaq and IBM's Support who both claim that it should work.
Device manager states 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'
Have tried manually configuring the IRQ etc, but still no difference.

Anyone out there got an idea why this is happening.
Thanks in advance of any reply.

Is there am on board ethernet card? Have you tried to disable any virtual networking that may be set through an IR port. Maybe try to disable this as well in the bios. What are your installed protocols and which protocol came with the OEM with the card?
Let everything that have breath praise the Lord.
