Compaq CMOS 1

I am looking to get by a CMOS password that is on a Compaq Armada E500 model laptop. A client of mine put it on and does not remember it and I need to get in to make so changes.

1. Remove the Button Switch plate (two screws)
2. Unplug AC Power
3. Unplug the battery
4. Unplug the RTC Battery
5. Wait 1 hour or more
6. Power on with <b>AC power</b>

Should do the trick?

just make sure you power on with AC, without the battery installed..

ok - do you know where the RTC battery is located in this laptop?

it's underneath the power switch. there's two screws in the back that release it ..
