Compact and Repair Access 2000 via vb

I have a piece of vb code that opens an access database and then tries to repair and compact it.

This all work in access 97 but now fails in 2000.

Can anyone help with this and possibly provide the necessary code.

They switched database formats from JET 3.5 to JET 4.0 between 97 and 2000. So, given the amount of detail you've provided, I'll just venture a guess that it has something to do with the format change. ADO connection strings will have to change; I don't know, but I think you might have to use a different DBEngine object if you're using DAO.
