This is odd...
My computer runs fine normally.
stats:
ATX case
Tyan Trinity 2190 MB
AMD Duron 700 mhz
512 mb matched PC133 cas2
30 GB HD 7200 rpm ata100
SB Live Value card
ATI All in wonder 128
usb modem
generic NIC
PS2 KB
USB Mouse
anyhow, all drivers are current. I thought it was a RAM issue at first, but it does it even with matched sticks for the mb. I'm starting to think it is sound related..but everything looks fine.
It doesnt lock up right away, I've played starcraft for 35 minutes and had it lock up, went for a couple hours once before it locked. I've played Winamp overnight as a jukebox for mp3s and it didnt lock up, but sometimes play for a few songs and it locks up. Sometimes instead of locking it reboots. When it locks up the sound is constant. If its in the middle of a .wav, like an explosion in starcraft, it will play the part of the sound it locks up on constantly, same for music.
I had directx 7, upgraded to 8.0a and it still does it.
I'm about to say screw it and build a new athlon, but my setup is more than adequate for surfing and starcraft/diablo2.
appreciate any assistance.
