How can I find out what the community string is that my admins are currently using.
 
Look under the following regkeys, or check the properties of your SNMP service....

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SNMP\Parameters\TrapConfiguration

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SNMP\Parameters\ValidCommunities

Hi,
I know your posting is way old. But you can even check the community string with the &quot;cim20.ini&quot; file.
Find it here: Windows directory - open the file - Scroll down to [Settings] - DefaultCommunityString=xyz
