I have a dozen or so reports that our staff accesses via the web - there have been no problems for almost a year until this morning. Now, this is the message they are
getting:

Communication failed with all configured Web Component Servers because they are disabled or not currently running. If this problem continues, please contact the system administrator.

I stopped and re-started all the Crystal Services. That didn't help. I re-booted the server - that didn't help.

I'm hoping someone has an idea or 2 for me! I am running the reports manually for now and hand-delivering them all over the place!

Thanks in advance for any/all replies!

Dear MJ,

Did you check the event viewer on the machine? Are there any error messages?

Have any changes ocurred on the machine?

Check the mappings for the default website in IIS for *.cri and *.rpt

Default Website/Right Click/Properties/Home Director/Configuration

Even if the mappings look good, remap. Restart web server.

Did this fix?

What other steps have you taken so far?

Dear MJ,

Great! Thanks for posting so much info, makes it much easier.

You're using Crystal Enterprise?

I think your problem lies here:

Failed to register with the name server. Reason: The server name being registered is invalid. There might be another server of this type registered using the same friendly name. 9:52:12 AM
(Source = Crystal_pageserver)

Check out this link at Crystal Decisions and see if following the indicated steps solves the issue. Even though you state no changes were made, this still might be the issue.

I am afraid that I don't know much about CE.
