Communication Failure

Trying to backup a Mac running Macserver OS X. Have installed the mac agent and it's running and can also see the folders that i want to backup in Backup exec 9.1 running on a windows 2003 server. However evrytime backup starts it fails with this message " a000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred". This happens about 3mins into the backup run.

any advice welcomed.
