Have you looked at this yet?

NewVBTerm: MSComm Control Techniques

NewVBTerm.exe is a sample that demonstrates various MSComm control techniques that include answering the modem, simple text file transfer, data receipt and processing, packet reassembly, and use of the OnComm event.

Get it at:

I have a very odd, but complete book caled 'parallel port complete' wtitten just for VB, it's about 400 pages.

title:'parallel port complete'
by:'jan axelson'
isbn:'096508191-5'
price:'39.95"

I think I got it from fatbrains.com

There are a few sharewares IOports to control the individual bits of the parallel port to switch on lights and relays

I'm looking to use the infrared port on my laptop. I'm using VB Enterprise 6.0 SP5; however, the Winsock control doesn't seem to support IrDA communication. Please assist if you've programmed the infrared port on your laptop using the Winsock control. If the Winsock control is the wrong object to use for this issue please let me know what object I should use and where I can go to download it. Thanks in advance.
