common dialog says i have no fonts installed 1

I'm trying to use the Microsoft Common Dialog controls to change the fonts in a program from inside the program. But, whenever I call CD.ShowFont it tells me that there are no fonts installed on the system and errors out to my error trap. Systems are MS WinXP Pro. Any ideas?
