The links page looks ok. The only complaint I might have is that the color of the words at the top (in yellow) would be difficult to read against the background of a yellow sun. I am also assuming that you are asking about the Home link at the bottom (since the rest appear to be other sites external to yours). When it first opened, there was some sort of angel icon at the top left hand corner that then moved in conjunction with the cursor - but only until the picture of the angel loaded on the right hand side. A little disconcerting, to be honest, especially when it then disappeared and didn't return. Is that intentional?
Also, the stars flowing forth from the angel continue to do so (from the same relative location) even when you scroll down the page. Again, not sure if that is intentional or not, but I personally found it distracting if I'm trying to read what is further down the page in that same relative location. Finally, on this same page, the light blue (non-bolded) words are harder to read on the blue background. I might consider changing the color to something that stands out more.
Also, FWIW, I viewed this on IE 6.

Looking at strictly the links page, at first glance, it looks good. When resizing the window, I noticed that the background stays in the center no matter how big, but the text stays out where it was positioned. If I had to guess, I would say that your screen rez is .... 1280x1024. I say this because this is the resolution that it looks best in.
The page looks nice on my screen, at that rez. I would make the tables that hold the text out to be dynamic resizing width tables so that the width of the browser (or screen) is not something that needs to be taken into account.
For the home page, the contrast is almost nonexistant between the background and the text. This makes it hard to read. I would darken the background.
The angle is abit wierd in that it follows my mouse for abit, but goes away.
I like the angle gif, but try and stay away from animation in general. It tends to make people shy away from reading your content and give them headaches. Plus, it adds overhead to download times.
I like the links page.

Using IE, when the page first loads, all your menu's are in the upper left side of the page sitting on top of "Our Links" (at least for me). If I go to another page and back, the menu is down in the lower right, where, I assume it belongs. It happens everytime I click on your link in the original post and open a new page.

Hmm Paul that's interesting I can't replicate that behaviour. The only thing I can think of is a JS script I have on the page to set the position of the links in the window. Do you have javascript turned off?

Well, my Active Scripting and Scripting of Java Applets are enabled. There are two disabled features in my Security settings.
1. Allow scripting of Internet Explorer Webbrowser control
2. Allow script initiated windows without size or position constraint.
I will try enabling them and rebooting and see if that makes a difference.

And it did not make any difference. I have a POP Up blocker enabled in my security settings as well, but doubt that would make a difference. It is strange but consistent.

Found it, It's a Doctype issue. In my doctype I forgot to put in the url of the definition. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

the only change I've made the the link document is changing the doctype. Arrrgh!!! got lots of work to do. Thanks very much to you and the other posters for your help. A star for you.

Got it!!! got rid of the script( that's what was messing it up) Used css positioning and now I have the correct doctype it validates fine and I like the positioning better. Oh yes it deserves a star, without your input I would've never noticed. Thanks again!
