Looking at strictly the links page, at first glance, it looks good. When resizing the window, I noticed that the background stays in the center no matter how big, but the text stays out where it was positioned. If I had to guess, I would say that your screen rez is .... 1280x1024. I say this because this is the resolution that it looks best in.
The page looks nice on my screen, at that rez. I would make the tables that hold the text out to be dynamic resizing width tables so that the width of the browser (or screen) is not something that needs to be taken into account.
For the home page, the contrast is almost nonexistant between the background and the text. This makes it hard to read. I would darken the background.
The angle is abit wierd in that it follows my mouse for abit, but goes away.
I like the angle gif, but try and stay away from animation in general. It tends to make people shy away from reading your content and give them headaches. Plus, it adds overhead to download times.
