commented lines will not save

In the record selection formula editor, when I comment out a line using the // operator, and save and close, the commented line has been deleted when I reopen the editor. This makes it tough when testing different criteria in the selection formula. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to change this? I already read through the options, and report options screens. Thanks !

Never heard of that one, I save comments routinely.

I have the same problem in vers 8.5. In data formulas the comments remain. In the select formula they disappear.
