Is there a command line tool to display a user's info, something similar to Windows NT's NET USER command? I am in the process of deleting a bunch of inactive users and want to record info about their Group Memberships and Trustee Directories but it's rather long. I'm using NetWare 3.12 and BindView 5.0b. This version of BindView does output lots of user data, but not Group Membership and Trustee Directories, at least not in a nice, neat way that I can import into a spreadsheet/database easily.

i am not sure this is what you are looking for but try sysconw not syscon it maybe what you are looking for So long and thanks for all the fish.

gunthnp,

I am already using version 1.13 of SysconW, for unlimited number of server, and it doesn't have any export features. However, using your cue I decided to check out the web site of the maker of SysconW, AMC Software. It appears they renamed SysconW to WnSyscon and it does support printing of user info etc. I was hoping for a simple freeware utility to get the job done quickly. WnSyson may do the job but since I'll have to go thru the usual purchase request procedure to get, and considering that my department already has the latest version of BindView that will be rolled out in a few months, WnSyscon isn't for me, even though it technically may be the ticket.

As a system Admin, try SECURITY

This lists names, Equivs, and some imp info

Also try RIGHTS (Shallow on this command)

My novell is rusty, hope this helped. Let me know how you get on.

Four years later, I now know about NLIST - the poor man's equivalent of BindView. Given the proper context, NLIST can provide almost everything there is to know about an NDS user. One catch with NLIST is that its output is not one line per user, but rather columnar format. I had to write a KiXtart script to parse the output and convert it into row format, i.e. one row of data per user.
