We got that bit.
When you say "get to a command line prompt, out of X-windows" we need to know exactly what you mean by "Out of" and "X-windows".
When you say "X-windows", what exactly do you have?
1. A graphics card, attached monitor and the AIX CDE (Common Desktop Environment) X windows interface so you are at the actual AIX 4.3.3 system console and have a graphics interface.
2. A PC running an x-server program like Exceed, Reflections X, Cygwin or some other x-server, for MS windows 'some version' running on your PC.
3. Some other network attached system enabled with an X-windows connection to the AIX machine.
When you say "Out of" please describe the options you have and have tried; menu options, right / left click options and menus, etc. so we can get an idea of the sort of graphics environment you are in.
Can you just telnet or ssh to the AIX machine?
Are you stuck in just one application?
What rights does your user have on the AIX machine?
