Combo drive........problem...

Hi guys I have a combo drive cd re-writer and dvd drive, my drive burns and works using cds etc, but when I try to play dvds the picture is ok, but the sound is distorted?

I know my sound card is working ok, as I can play music on my computer, and also games.....has anyone any idea what to do next....?

What do you mean by you can play music? Can you play a music CD? If not, check the wire from the drive to the sound card if there is one. If so, have you tried more than one DVD? Is the DVD a commercial product?

yes i can play music cds, and the sound comes out ok, but when i play a dvd movie the sound is all distorded......but the picture is ok....the sound seems to crackle...

If digital cd audio is enabled for the drive try disabling it.
