Hi,

I am a new user of Access with a question about combo boxes.

I have created a combo box in Table 1, using 2 columns of Table 2 (Columns 1 and 2). Using the wizard, I could only display the information of one of the columns in Table 1 after selecting an item from the combo box. I chose to display Column 1. Is there any way to "pipe" the information of column 2 of the combo box into another column in Table 1?

Thank You in Advance,

Z

I think your problem may have been that the 2nd column width was set to 0 therefore appearing as if it wasn't there.

In the design properties you want column count at 2 and column width at 1";1"(if the semi-colon doesn't work try a comma). You can change the widths from 1" but make sure they are both greater than 0.

Thanks for the help Hillary. I had the properties set the way that you described. I can see the two columns in the pull down for the combo box, but when I make a selection only one of the columns will remain. I would like to find a way to insert both columns of information into Table 1.

You can try to concatinate the fields in the original table, which will combine them into one field then use the concatinated field as your pull down.

The best way to do this is probably in a query and then base your form on a query instead of the table.

To combine two fields into one...
{field1}&" "&{field2}

The purpose of the " " is to put a space between field1 and field2. You can type anything you want between the quotes. If you don't want a space between the two then {field1}&{field2}

Good luck!
