I have 5 different tables all with different headers and have been asked to combine into one table in the database. Some will have duplicate names and we will be using this database for labels and mailouts etc. Is there a way to combine these tables without having to rekey all the info ?

thanks everybody !

Like the Tic-Tac ad Says, "Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it".

You should review relational database design, paying particular attention to "Normalization". If collapsing the data results in less than third degree of normalization, you are basically creating a no win situation.

For REALLY un-sophisticated "users", you might create a query which presents the data in the 'flat file' image format. Let "them" deal with that in whatever manner they choose - but leave the database schems in relational form.

thanks Michael. I think the extra postage for duplicates will be cheaper and safer than rekeying.

Taylor,

With a query you can eliminate duplicates and save postage!
