I have a couple of page setup in 4 colors. I would like to send these page to a printer and ask him to print it in black and white.
This pages include eps drawings and text that are in color.
Is there an easy way to reset all the pages in black and white for the printer.
When I say 'easy' I mean, without going to each EPS or text and convert them to black and white.
Thanks
Louis

a printer (as in a printing press, not desktop) won't be able to just print as grayscale from your file. Most printers make plates from separations, not composites. To correctly set up your file you should open up all of your eps files and convert them to grayscale. Then in Quark's color pallete you can delete all spot colors and choose black as a replacement. As an "easy" shortcut, if your printer can accept a pdf file, print a postscript file from Quark using the grayscale color mode in the print window and distill the file to pdf. It will then be a grayscale pdf.

I work in a pre-press dept of a printing company - - call your printer and have them check with their prepress dept to see if they can do this for you. The rip I work on can convert client's files that are 4/c to greyscale on the fly.

It is best though to try and convert everything in your files as the best option, but if you can't to do it - - see if the prepress dep.t can help you.
