color choices not available

Hey
Totally new at golive, but am learning using videos and other tutorials. For some reason when I choose the page properties option, and goto the inspector, when i click on background color, to change it, all options in the color palette are faded. I can change it in the code, but it is just bothering me and I would like it to work properly...anyone had this before?

When you tick the "background colour" check box, also click in the colour reference rectangle immediately to the right.

thanks for the reply. It's wierd...if I have the tabs docked "in the wall" the colour choices will not appear, but as soon as I go back to the default desktop it's fine.
