Hello, I'm near completion of my document, ready to send it to the printer. However, whenever I do a "collect for output", I get an error: QuarkXPress has generated too many errors and will be shut down. I researched the Knowledge Base, and all I could come up with is this problem may be caused by duplicate file names. After a cursory search, I do not believe that I have any duplicate file names. Any other ideas or solutions? Thanks!

Have you tried doing a collect with no fonts open? Where are the images are they on a network drive or your HDD? If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Before collecting, update all the pictures - see if that gives any errors. If it doesn't, Matt is probably right.

You could always try the old cure for all file related issues - have you rebuilt your desktop recently???

Thanks for the help!

I double checked all of the images and they seem to be fine. Here's an interesting test I did, as suggested from the Quark forum:
I divided my document into smaller sections, and tried to collect each section. Guess what? Each section "collects" fine. Only when I try to collect the entire document do I get the error.

Any other ideas?

FYI, the images are on my hard drive, and I am using the Windows version...

We're getting this problem too, and have no solution so far... If anyone figures it out, please let us know. I have a feeling that Quark needs to be reinstalled, or is it Windows?

I had the same problem while trying to do a collect on PC running Quark 4.11, win2000 pro and I found a way around it.
Go to Xtension manager in Quark and desactivate all Xtension you don't need. Personnaly I desactivated all the following (since I didn't need those at the final stage of the project):
LZW import
Enhanced Preview
MS-Word Import
Wordperfect import
MS-write import
Photo CD import
QuarkLink
Also, I deactivated from Print manager: adobe Distiller just in case
Try different combinaison on your own and see if it works
Good luck
