I have 2 sites A & B. Site are to be connected using a Cisco 1721 router at each end. There is a T1 Point to Point line between the sites. Does anyone have a sample configuration that can guide me in getting these routers configured.

this is from cisco's website. ive used this setup.
if its just a point to point T1, i usually make it a /30 mask. just make sure the linecode and framing are the same which your provider will give you anc clock to the line.

this should get you going though, do the same on both sides.

conf t
interface Serial0/0

ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.255.252

service-module t1 framing esf

service-module t1 linecode b8zs

service-module t1 timeslots 1-24 speed 64

Hello, all, I am trying to do the same thing. I have set the bandwith to 1544
timeslots to 1-24 speed 64
clock source to internal.
MTU is at 1500.
The encapsulation is HDLC, both ends will be Cisco
The CSU/DSU has an orange AL LED on it when I connect it to the smart jack. I guess my first question is this. Will the interface show as down if it is correctly configured, but the other router on the other end is not connected to the circuit? I ask because it is showing as down. The cable I am using to connect to the smart jack is a straight through cable-I think-wire pattern is identical on both ends. Thanks in advance for input.

if I am geting you right, the serial will still show the line protocol to be down coz there is no link with the other router.
