Codex Modem

I've opbtained a Motorola Codex modem, but no documentation. It has a front panel with "Codex Motorola" on the left side, and "LSI E96/V.29" on the right. It has a dial switch on the left labeled "MUX/DATA Rate" and appears capable of 4800, 7200 and 9600 Baud rates. It also appears to have 4 channel operation capability. Can anyone help identify this piece of equipment? I'd like to try using it on Packet Radio for Amateur Radio. I can be reached at: rickmccusker@sbcglobal.net.
