I'm trying to call from the Avaya to the Cisco Meet-Me conference number. I can call the Cisco IP phones all day, no problem. But when I attempt to join the Cisco MMConf, I get a codec mismatch.

I guess I gotta come up with a way to isolate the Meet-Me conference number to the Cisco system and only use 711.

Note: Cisco CallManager Software Conference Bridge supports only G.711 a-law and G.711 u-law and does not understand any other codec such as G.729. External callers cannot be added to the conference if they use a codec other than G.711. In order for calls that originate as G.729 to be connected with phones that use G.711, you need to use a transcoder

Shouldn't be hard to do.

Just setup a new ip-network-region for the Cisco. Assign that region to the Cisco ip address in ip-network-map and the ntell the system to use a unique codec set for inter-networkregion traffic between those regions.

A very wise and well respected man once told me "Shut Up!".

Sounds like I'm probably going to have to do some ip-network-mapping and matching that to ip-network-regions because the Cisco serves two different locations and the distant location requires g.729.

Up to my eyeballs in something bigger at the moment and this sounds like an after hours project.

Thanks for the input!!
