Cobol output used in java client server

I would like to know if anyone has any thoughts on how to use the output of a COBOL program as the data for passing in a client server situation written in JAVA.

So the client is accepted by the server and then the server starts a COBOL program and the output from this program is sent to the client.

For Micro Focus and RM/COBOL, you may get JDBC access to COBOL files using Relativity:
