CMS Reports Scheduling 1

Hello,

Is there a way that I can schedule a report to run daily and print to a certain users printer? I have to run the report manually every morning and then I email it to the user. I would like to able to have the report run and then print to the users printer every morning. Please let me know if this is possible and how I would do it.

The "timetable" feature of cms will allow scheduled daily reports to be printed.

If you are using the emulator, press F4 at the main CMS menu. Select timetable, fill out the table and select add. Once added, go to "get contents" and add a task. Once you've finished the reports needed, press F4 to save.

I believe you need to set it up via an emulator or you can also go directly to the cms server to set it up.

If you want to schedule a report using a timetable, you have to have printers administered in your CMS. You can schedule reports using Centre Vu Supervisor by scripting.
You will also need some type of scheduling software such a Miscrosoft scheduler to schedule the script.

Here's how you do it...
Pull the report as you normally would, except when you put in the date, put in a relative number. Meaning, instead of putting in yesterday's date, put the date as "-1". If you want 2 days ago, that would be -2. Today is 0.

Once you run the report, select Report and then Script. The Save As Script window will open. Change the Save As Type to "Automatic" and name the script something useful. Be sure to save it in a folder that you'll be able to find it in. When you save it, the system will ask you to put in a login and password to run the script with. This is your CMS Supervisor login and password.

Now you've got your script saved. On your scheduling program, schedule that script (which is now an executable file) to run as often as you like. The computer that runs it must have Centre Vu Supervisor on it. The report will automatically print out at the default printer of the computer it's scheduled on whenever the script is run.

Hi,

It ran itself but it didnt print to my default printer. If I double click it, it will run and print but when I put it in the Windows scheduler it didnt print.....thanks in advance for any help.

Go into supervisor on that machine and then select the Options button and select the Scripting tab. Then go into the error log and see if it's logged any specific errors. You can also try retyping the login and password to make sure it's correct. (Remember...you can't use the cms login because it has to be logged in manually.)
