CMOS Checksum Error 1

I just purchased a new motherboard model M811. When I try to boot up I can see that it recognizes my processor, RAM, and video card, but it is not reading any of my IDE devives. This includes the HD, CD-ROM, CD burner, and floppy drive. I have heard suggestions of flashing the BIOS but I can't do that because I don't have access to the floppy drive. Any other suggestions for what might be causing this issue. Is it possibly just a bad board?

If you're getting a 'CMOS Checksum Error', then clear CMOS with a MB jumper(see MB's instructions).

If no luck, then replace the CMOS battery.

If still no good, then the MB may be bad.

If you can get into bios, as well as doing what ski has mentioned also check and make sure plug and play is set to "no".
