CM8500 Usb Modem

hello
i can´t enable the usb modem in to the CM 2.2 server 8500
i install first the patch 02.0.111.4-10218 and is not working
then i install the patch 02.0.111.4-8665

with both patch i receive the same error


/usr/bin/sudo: no password entry for samp!
error: RunSampModCtl: */opt/ecs/sys/sampmodctl -off" failed with status 0x100
error: processOffSAMP: RunSampModCtl -off command failed

Access through the modem is administered to disabled
Access through the modem is currently disable


any idea ?

You can find a firmware for the RMB of S8500. Please try to update it before to apply the patch on the CM2.2

but in the S8500 i don´t have the RMB card
i´am just using the USB port in front the 8500 to connect the modem

First, is this an 8500 or an 8500B?

I had the same problem and Avaya Tier 3 fixed it. Not sure what they did but because we had service span contract, it was free of charge.

but do you have the same server ? 8500 CM 2.2
and witch patch do you have ?

i have s8300b server with 2.2 - same patch as yours. The server got to such a stage that we were no longer able to access the web browser locally through the services ports. Eventually the server just crashed when Avaya tried to fix the problem and did a re-boot. We had to re-build the entire server and restore the back up. It was a nightmare. I am still not sure if the problems were related. However, I would get Avaya to look at the problem ASAP.

patch is VERY necessary. You need to make sure you load the latest SAMP software as well. This is done by accessing the SAMP module and following the manual
