CM Survivability

Hi we have installed a main CM (on VMWare) and an ESS site. Now ae are installing a third site (having Cm/SMGR/SM) also as ESS. Is it possible to build a main CM and two ESS sites?? At present we are creating all users on main site and it duplicates to ESS site automatically.
If possible then what will happen if main CM fails? which ESS site will take over the call processing??

You can add an ESS. You will need to decide if you are going to do a simplex or duplex ESS. You will then need to change your network regions along with the G450's to have the correct ESS.

URL is giving error 404.
I understand now i can create dual ESS but which ESS will take over if the main site fails? i mean in which configuration i define this??

msk69... what you are asking is covered in the document BIS posted. Check the section on "Assigning Community for Port Networks screen" and it's related topics.

The only spot you should be getting a 404 is when trying to administer the ESS. Everything else can be done over SSH.

You can have CM+many ESS. You can have up to 2 SMGR with manual failover.

ESS and LSP servers come into service when requested by a media resource - be it a G650 with IPSI/Medpro or a G450 or a media server.

The answer to your question of which site will take over depends on the order of failover in the configuration of your media resources.
