CM and Voice Portal

Its my first time to integrate the Avaya Voice Portal to the Avaya CM, however i dont have any idea how does CM and AVP communicate. I have documents how to create agents, stations and skill but i didnt mention how to connect to the AVP.

Is it via IP Trunk? or what? and how does it work? If it is ip trunk what is my far-end when i create a signaling?

Please kindly give me light!

From memory I think you need an AES server. Then the DLG user can also log into the customers Active directory. I'm pretty sure you don't need an IP trunk. The info flows through the CTI. It's quite complex to get the thing working. I've got course notes somewhere but I remember it being a pain to setup in the lab.
 
Im lost. I'm talking about AVP not AES.
 
When I setup an Avaya voice portal in the lab we used an AES server to connect the two. We didn't use IP trunks. I don't think you can use an IP trunk because AVP is a CTI app.
 
How did u do it? Do u have any manual to share? Do you have your home-made step by step procedure (shorten procedure based on manual) or something? Please im new to this, so i badly need help.
 
Unfortunately I don't I'm sorry to say, I did the course in an Avaya lab when the product was new. Even the trainers wasn't quite sure how it worked at the time.

But im not so sure how the process works. If i dial the hunt group what will happen? I'm sure i will get a busy tone already. How does my PBX pass the DTMF tone to my voice portal? is it via CLAN? if so what process? ip-services? trunk? communication-processor or what?

Please, need your ideas.
