Hi All,

I have a question regarding the licence file on CM3.1.5 for a ESS Cluster. Heres my current set-up:

Main Site - Server Cluster 1
2x S8720
Port Networks 1 & 2

ESS Site - Server Cluster 2
1x S8510
Port Network 3

ESS Site - Server Cluster 3
2x S8720
Port Networks 4 & 5

LSP Site - MG 1
1x S8300C
1x G700

The IPSI's in Port Network 4 and 5 were replaced by the customer. Therefore my Active S8720 in server cluster 3 is in Licence Error mode as there is a serial number mismatch. So I've completed a maintenance swapout on RFA and now have a new licence file referencing the new serial number if IPSI 4A.

So my question is do I just need to install the new lic & pwd files on the servers in cluster 3, or do I need to install a new lic & pwd file on all servers?

I think I only need to install the lic & pwd files on the servers in cluster 3, but serveral colleagues think I need to update all servers with a new lic & pwd file.

Hope this makes sense and that somebody can point me in the right direction.

Cheers

You only need to install the license in the s8720 active server that has the golden ipsi with a new serial number in PN 4.

Just to make sure I've got this right.

I just install the new lic & pwd on the active server in cluster 3?

You only needed a license to fix the license error.
An authentication file was not necessary. Now that you have a new authentication file, you need to install it, because it changed the Avaya craft password in the Maestro database as soon as you asked RFA for the download. If you don't put it in, the Maestro craft password does not match the craft password in the servers.
This only affects the craft login via the services ports of the ESS server pair.
