This might help. It looks about the same as what you're dealing with, outlined in detail in the Novell Resource Suite. Also note that there are several post NW50SP6 patches that should be applied.

The working of file trustees.
Novell Consulting is keen on the current technical issues that Company X is facing:

Trustee rights lost on the Novell Cluster servers.
Trustee assignments don't work if applied on the user object.
The first message means that the cluster services ran into a trustee mismatch, which means that it found a trustee rights that can't be assigned to any object. This is a sign that the trustee checks are working properly. However, it is likely that there is a problem with the trustee rights assignments in general. From the information gathered at Company X the trustee rights have been mixed up or lost after a severe server crash. However, newly assigned or reassigned trustee rights work.
If the trustee rights are given to a user on a volume or directory by adding the user to the trustee list of the volume or directory, the trustee rights are assigned correctly.
If the trustee rights are assigned in the details of the userobject then these do not apply.
Novell Consulting recommends to:
First make sure the NDS problems are fixed.
Then apply the latest support pack for Cluster Services (currently CS1SP2.EXE)
Apply NSS5i.EXE, which is the NSS post-sp3 update. This patch is applicable to NW5.0 and NW5.1 but only in conjunction with CS1SP2.EXE.
Afterwards, follow the guidelines mentioned in TID#10053715 to re-create the trustee files on the Cluster Services.
If this fails, Novell Consulting advised to contact AXI for getting a support incident opened with the Novell support center. The problem description can be taken out of this report if applicable.
