When installing the first Mailbox role on a server in a two node cluster using Cluster Continuous Replication, I get the following error when the installer tries to configure the cluster side of things:

Property IsMailboxServer cannot be set on this object because it requires the object to have version 0.1 (8.0.535.0) or later. Current version of the object is 0.0 (6.5.6500.0)

Any ideas how to get around this?

Thanks.

Can you give more details of what you are running? Exchange 2007 RTM on Windows Server 2003 SP1 or R2?

I am using three servers all 64-bit, Windows Server 2003 SP1, and Exchange 2007 RTM. One server is the Hub Transport and Client Access server, the other 2 are for the Mailbox cluster. There is also an Exchange 2003 implementation running on the network.

I have tried removing Exchange from the mailbox server and reinstalling, but no joy.

Just an update, I removed Exchange from the cluster and the clustered mailbox object from AD (not the cluster name object but the resource it creates for the mailbox I gave it during setup).

Now when I rerun setup, it fails again but this time with:
"The operation could not be performed becasue object '<cms name>' could not be found on domain controller 'dc.domain.au'.

It seems the cluster object is not being created in AD anymore as part of the setup process.

*sigh*...frustrating...deep breaths...*sigh*

I got it working, although I still don't know what went wrong.

I reimaged the servers, giving them different names. Set up a new cluster, and installed all hotfixes on both servers, including the ones it recommends when you run setup and go to install CCR (didn't actually install CCR until both servers had completed this process). Then installed CCR successfully.

Anyway, 4 days later, CCR is working...
