Has anyone had this error message come across the console before:

"system name" clstrmgr [15766] write to jim: The specified message type does not exist on a message queue.
"system name" last message repeated 19 times.

It has been going on all weekend and I can't figure out why. No filesystems have been growing. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

hi,

What version of HACMP are you running & OS with maint level?

JIM messages are related to heartbeats in your HACMP cluster
,

check in more detail /tmp/hacmp.out and /var/adm/cluster.log
for more detail about JIM errors ?

you can chec for HACMP network by running cllsif command
and make sure the subnet mask is the same but ip addresses different for the boot/service adapters and standby adapters.

Are your network cards connected toa hub or a switch ?

If a switch check , the speed of the cards are the same
normally you should set the speed e.g. depending on your switch and card speed ( if 100mb) set card to 100MB full duplex & switch to 100MB full duplex

could this happen if the heartbeat cable came unplugged? is there a way to check to see if the heartbeat connection is broken?

hi,

are you using serial cable as heart beat or ssa , becuase you must have one non ip network in your ha cluster

if the heartbeat is broken , you will get a message in /tmp/hacmp.out indicating this , similar to if you disconnected/ lost one of your network cards ,but the differencebeing the label you gave the srial network when you configured HACMP for e.g ser_tty , will be listed in the hacmp.out file.

what version of HACMP are you running ?
