Hi,

I am new to Solaris and need to copy a Netra T 1120 to another one exactly as is including storage. (the hardware matches exactly)

What is the easiest way to completely copy the whole system? Does anyone have a dummies guide to doing this?

thanks!

Pete

Yes.

If the drives and all the other equipment is identical, you sould be able to do a sectors for sector copy from one drive to another using imaging software. Media Tools works, DiskPatch should (haven't tried it for that yet).

Failing finding cheap affordable drive imaging software.

You can run any build of Linux, even down to a floppy image, then use the dd command to mirror a drive.

Just make sure you know which way you put in your /dev's :)
