Ok heres the case. I have 2 2500 series routers connected via serial ports. One is DTE the other is DCE. Iam using PPP as the encapsulation. The thing is that I have the clock rate set at 148000. That gives me transfer rates between the routers at about 136kbs. Now if I try to increase the clock rate to 250000 or anything higher than 148000, serial line protocol goes down. I know that these routers can handle T1 speeds. Is it the encapsulation that I should change to be able to increase the speed or do I have to get different cables? Or is that the maximum speed for serial interfaces?
Thanks for any input.
