Is there anyway to avoid the overflow error at any numbers because there is unlimited number of pages that could be added by the client.

The Long type is two thousand million (US 2 billion) positive numbers (2,147,483,647) That's a lot of pages (half the reported size of Googles index!)
This could of course be doubled if vbScript allowed for unsigned long integers.

You could use hexadecimal numbers. This would give &H00000000 to &HFFFFFFFF (4,294,967,295) positive numbers to play with.

why not use a Double?

Range:
-1.79769313486232E308 to -4.94065645841247E-324 for negative values;
4.94065645841247E-324 to 1.79769313486232E308 for positive values.

AFAIK precision for double is 15 digits... still better than for integer (9).
