Hi,

I have a little system in excel:

When you press a button it collects data from external by opening the file, copying and pasteing into the system file and then closing the external file.
but it prompts asking if i want to save on the clip board. how do i stop this as it stops the macro running right through with no manual intervention.

thanks

I'm no VBA expert, but you may want to copy/paste your VBA here, so the experts can help you.

put code to copy the contents of one small cell into the clipboard before the part of your code that causes Excel to ask "if i want to save on the clip board"

I am guessing that you are getting a message from Excel similar to this

"You placed a large amount of data in the clipboard.
Do you want this data to be available to other ..."

when you close the workbook you copied the data from.

replacing the large amount of data in the clipboard with a small amount of data (e.g., the contents of one cell) before you close the workbook will get rid of this prompt
