Is there a setting to determine how long client backup reports within veritas 5 are kept? Or a way to tell how long they are kept(default setting somewhere)? Thanks.

The default is 3 days. It can be modified as explained in Chapter 6 of the netbackup admin guide Volume 1.

Just because the VERITAS documentation states a certain thing does not make it a fact and that is truth.

Just want to check does the client backup report hold the same info as the activity monitor. I couldn't find it in the docs.

To get a list of client images for the last week:
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpimagelist -U -byclient <clientname> -hoursago 168

Reason I was asking is that we ran a client backup report for January and some backups were missing for a particular day. Our Global Setting for Keep Log Files is set to 3 days so we were surprised anything showed up and we were confused as to where that data was getting pulled from.

I keep my jobs for 9 days with these entries in my bp.conf
KEEP_JOBS_HOURS = 216
KEEP_JOBS_SUCCESSFUL_HOURS = 216

I chose 9 days so that I can compare the previous weekly backup. Just my personal preferrence. It gives me 15,000 lines in the activity monitor but I know how to use the filter mechanism.
