You don't have any client problems and two come at once. It's worse than London Buses.

I am running Windows2000 with SP2 and the rollup patch. I have installed Client 4.83 and all seems to be well. I have installed the nt483pt2 patch for the client as well.

The problem i have is when I run Rconsole it returns with the error 'No server found'. Possibly a problem with Rconsole you would think, however if I have the 4.82 client on the PC I have no problems at all.

I have tried changing the default protocol in the client protocols which has not resolved the issue.

This is a strange one and any ideas from anybody would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest configuring and running RConsoleJ if you are running W2K.

Add the following to your AUTOEXEC.NCF on your server, this enables RCONJ:

RCONAG6 hello 2034 16800

where hello is your password (2034 is the TCP port and 16800 is the SPX port - these should be standard).

The application is in SYS:pUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOLEONE\1.2 and is called RCONJ.EXE. You have to run this from a mapped drive and not use UNC. -----------------------------------------------------

I'm running 4.83 patched on my XP Pro system and have not run into that problem with rconsole. I do like rconj as well as it allows you to go forward & backward with the console screens. I always seem to pass the one I want :)

You can use ALT-F3 and ALT-F4 to go back and forth in RConsole you know! -----------------------------------------------------

adrem is the best way, it detects ip or ipx, you can browse trees to find servers loads of stuff and is easy and quick to change servers. Search intrenet for adrem and you will use it all the time after. Lee Smith

Yeah, but what is a pain is when you start using RConsoleJ. Because ALT-F4 is the Windows shortcut for closing the program, if I had a pound for every time I had closed RconsoleJ when I was trying to go back a screen I would be a millionnaire! -----------------------------------------------------
