hi

i got this error when i tried installing a clickonce application from my localhost... "System.Deployment.Application.DeploymentDownloadException (Unknown subtype)"

it say the downloading of the .dll file is not successful.

I already add the .dll on the IIS->http header->file types. but i still got the same error...

am i missing something...

I enabled the property of the dll to isolated = true.

hope someone could help me... thanks!!!!

I'll try to help, but someone might have a better answer as I gave up on the whole clickonce as having too many problems with detailed setups. Also I'll say I don't know the particular error.

With all that said clickonce seems to have some things that are actually mandatory even though it gives you the options to do it another way. There are only a few things I can suggest. First, I don't know that there is a way around this, but if there is the .dll must show up in the references. Second, make sure you have read/write access to the folder the .dll is located in. I had read-only access on one and it would package the .dll with the clickonce for some reason. Third, under Publish and the Application Files button the .dll must be set to Include and Required. While there are other options I've no gotten any of the other choices to work.

Maybe someone will know the actual error and be able to give you better advice. My biggest advice is get away from clickonce. It is a great idea that just does not work as needed for most installations.

Thanks for your reply i really appreciate it...

Does anyone have succeeded in clickonce deployment as of this moment? If yes, if let me know...

I search everything in the internet and there is no solution that i could find that will tell me that clickone is a good deployment tool. Though microsoft is saying that this will solve the delama of windows application intallation process. There are a lot of known issues that are not yet solved.

Thanks again.
