Hi all,

I am having an issue.

I have Arcserve 2000 running on win NT4 (w/ exchange 5.5)
I have scripts running every night to back up our data.

Unfortunately, two of the jobs Fail every night, and i can do nothing about it.

When i try to select the job to try to modify it, I get a Dr.watson application error:

Dr.Watson for Windows NT

"An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.

Asmgr.exe
Exception access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x77e78784

This automatically closes arcserve..

What shall I do?

corrupt job or queue.

Close the ARCserve Manager, stop the ARCserve services, delete the 00000001.qsd directory, startup ARCserve, recreate the jobs.

thanks for the tip, i'll try this out tomorrow morning and keep you posted.

What could corrupt the job? These are relatively new jobs, and i might have done something when creating these jobs which causes this error.

Please advise on the correct way to set up these jobs, so i can check and see if i did anything wrong. Thanks again for your help.

Cheers,

no idea on how they get corrupt and know of no way to intentionaly do it. I am sure you set up the jobs just fine.

Dear davidmichel,

Thanks for the tip, i simply deleted the directory like you said, (well i actually went into it and deleted the jobs that were dead) and recreated the jobs, now all is back in order.

Thanks again!
