Hi all-
XP Pro SP2, IE6 SP2, all latest patches, corporate image, no spyware/adware.

We have a problem here that just began happening after the last release of patches/hotfixes by MS -- when a user clicks certain links (embedded programmable links within buttons/dropdowns) - the title bar flashes in IE once or twice (as if you selected/deslected the application quickly) and nothing else ever happens. no errors, messages, popups, anything. it just blinks and then sits there.

we can manually redirect the links to shortcuts to actually get to the page in question, instead of being redirected from our portal, but then some of the links within that page behave the same way - catch-22.

our engineering group mentioned something about iframe, but not certain of the context/relevance of this.

im fairly certain its related to a patch. anyone see anything similar? if so, do you have a fix? TIA. -Jim

Do you want to try IE7?

This is for IE6.

Internet Explorer Fix

System Restore back to when it worked OK, or remove the MS Patches?

Does it work in "Safe Mode with Networking"?

Make sure your options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Uncheck the boxes for "Install on Demand" for IE and Other programs (two boxes).

Try running temporarily with the third box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

"This specifies that you want to disable features you installed for use with Internet Explorer that may have been created by companies other than Microsoft.
If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve, you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off."

If that stops your errors, you will know where the trouble is.
