I have a Definity G3si with release V6. A co-worker of mine tried logging into one of the maintenance accounts and tripped a Major Alarm on the system. How do I go about clearing this? The alarm report shows it as a LOG_SVN. We no longer have a maintenance service agreement with Avaya, so having them clear it would be expensive.

Thanks!

I don't know if you will be able to clear this because it is a higher level login and I have never tried to clear this type of alarm, so this is all just a guess.
Try the command clear measurements security
or try change system-p secu and change the notification to "no"
or try placeing a lsvn-halt button on a display phone
I know that the last two are how stop security violation calls, but I don't know if it will clear the alarm.

Good luck, and I hope I am not sending you in a wrong direction!

Try a "test alarms clear"

I am not sure that will clear that particular alarm, but it is worth a shot.

Hope that helps.

Hmmg3...

Does the error list a login?

The following is from the Definity Maintenance guide:

Procedure to Retire an SVN Alarm

To retire a SVN alarm:
1. Enter the command enable login <login ID>.
The login ID associated with that alarm is displayed in the Alt Name field of the alarm report and the alarm is retired.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately none of them worked. I think enabling the login would normally fix it, but I was given a Permission Denied error. After digging into the manuals a little bit further I found the section on SVN Violations. According to Avaya, they would normally clear the violation from a service account. I'll check with one of their business partners that we have a contract with and see if they can remove it.

Thanks again!
